A Day with Thomas
Andrew spent part of last Saturday with his Aunt Christy and Uncle Bruce at A Day with Thomas. This is a lego Thomas. There was also Sir Topham Hatt, and a real Thomas Steam Engine that pulled his coaches. Andrew went for a ride on the train. Thomas was at the Stillwater Depot and pulled the Zepher Dining Cars for the ride.

Are you smart enough to pass Third Grade?
This one should be fun. Go to this website and test your knowledge of Geography. Do you know your states?
http://www.digyourowngrave.com/grade-three-geography-test/
Take the test and post a comment on how you did. My first try I got 38/50, but I was using the new laptop and I am not comfortable with the touchpad mouse. I ran out of time. Grrr. Technology sometimes can be a hindrance.....hehehe

Driving Lessons
Anika and Isabelle are playing with Andrew and Anika's Car. Kari and her kids Dillon and Isabelle were over for a visit before Kari heads off to her new job in Bangkok, Thailand. Heidi and her two daughters (Clair and Lauren) were also there.
Don't tell Anika that she has to wait another 15 years before she can really drive.

This is the life
I think I have just found the best use of technology yet. Right now as I type this, Anika is in her crib sleeping, Andrew is playing in the sand box, and I am sitting in a comfortable chair in the back yard with Shereen's new laptop. I just got done catching up on my emails and thought I would post another blog entry. So this doesn't sound all that exciting, but here is the cool part. First, I have a wireless access point in the den and I can post this live without having to save it and then post it later. The second coo thing, I have set up this computer with Remote Desktop. That means that I can log on to my work computer in my office and run it from the laptop. The cool thing is that with Remote Desktop what I see IS my work computer. All the programs work just like I was sitting at my desk. I have full access to all the files from that computer, all the programs on that computer, and what I save stays on that computer. WAY COOL.
The other cool program I found is Picasa from Google. (http://picasa.google.com) Its a FREE digital photo program. It organizes photos and does some simple editing. But what I really like is that I can pick a photo and Blog about it here. Because Google owns both Picasa and Blogger, they work together. The last post I did was my test of this feature. You will be seeing a lot more photo blogging in the future.
Andrew is about to drop grass on the laptop....gotta go.

Grandpa Lee's 70th Birthday Party
Shereen's Dad had his 70th birthday this month. We celebrated with a dinner at our house. He wanted Famous Daves so we ordered three of their large platters and really pigged out on ribs, chicken and bbq beef. It was really good. I love Famous Daves. He also wanted a Dairy Queen cake so we ended the meal with ice cream. The picture was taken during the present opening. Andrew and Anika had to help, of course.
