Como Zoo and Cafe Latte

It was a great Thursday. Shereen and I took the kids to Como Zoo. That place is really looking good. They have a new entrance that is the entrance for both the Zoo and the Conservatory. Andrew loves going to the zoo. After we were done, we went to Cafe Latte for lunch. I love Cafe Latte. I had the Tuna Salad Sandwich, Tomato Basil Soup, and some of Andrew's Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. We got Raspberry White chocolate Scones and a chocolate Cake to take home. It was a great day.

History of Apple Computers

This past weekend I listened to a discussion podcast about the beginnings of Apple Computers. It featured Bill Fernandez, Andy Hertzfeld, Daniel Kottke, Randy Wigginton, and Steve Wozniak. All are early employees of Apple Computer. They talk about starting the business in Steve Job’s garage and how it grew from there. The length of the podcast is 1 hour and 30 minutes with some of the audio a little soft. If you are interested in the beginnings of the desktop computer, this is a great podcast. You can find it at: http://twit.tv/48

Anika is Home

It has been a rough weekend. Saturday evening after going out to Red Lobster for dinner, we stopped at Super Target to do a little shopping. Anika feel out of her carseat from on top of a shopping cart and landed on her head. We took her to the emergency room in Wyoming, MN where they discovered a skull fracture. She was admitted to the Fairview/University of Minnesota Children's Hospital for observations. She was released Monday about noon.

She is fine. Everything is ok. There is nothing wrong with her. She has a few brusies and a new bump on her head. All indications are that she will not have any ill effects from the fall.

Shereen and I stayed with her in the hospital the first night. Shereen's sister and brother-in-law stayed with Andrew at our house. Shereen's dad took over the baby sitting job Sunday afternoon. Shereen went home Sunday evening to stay with Andrew and I stayed at the hospital with Anika until she was discharged. Shereen's dad was back watching Andrew Monday morning until we came home.

Anika charmed the socks off everyone at the hospital. Her bright giggles and pssst amused the nurses. Ankia enjoyed the new experience and really loved looking at all the decorations and pictures on the walls.

A special thanks to the emergency room staff at Fairview Lakes Regional Hospital in Wyoming, MN and the entire staff on 5B at the Fairview University Children's Hospital. Everyone was wonderful to work with and they really cared about everyone.
